At New Forest School, we have a digital literacy curriculum and ethos that underpins the whole school curriculum.
With the rapid pace of technological developments and students now being classed as ‘digital’ natives, it is vital that they develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of appropriate behaviours when making use of the vast array of technology at their disposal.
To that end, we have embraced a digital literacy curriculum that is taught through a combination of:
- Discrete Lessons: Within ICT/Computing and PSHE lessons.
- As Cross-curricular elements of many subject areas.
- Specific Assemblies
Our digital literacy curriculum is split into 8 strands.
