Our PSHE & Careers curriculum is drawn from:

- The Gatsby Benchmarks for Careers
PSHE & Careers is a key component of our Post 16 curriculum and designed to prepare students for their next steps in either education or the world of work.
It covers three key components:
Health & Well Being
Learning Outcomes:

- Mental health & wellbeing
- Healthy lifestyles
- Risk & personal safety
- Sexual health
- Drugs, alcohol & tobacco
Relationships

- Work and careers
- Employment rights & responsibilities

Curriculum Time
All Post 16 students receive a single lessons of PSHE & Careers per week.
Additional careers support is undertaken on a 1:1 with students to prepare them for their chosen destination after Post 16.
Qualifications
PSHE is a non-examined subject therefore students do not undertake qualifications in PSHE.
Resources
The dedicated, spacious Post 16 Classrooms used for PSHE & Careers lessons benefit from access to computers, an interactive digital projector. Additionally, students have access to iPads for specific lessons.
Students have access to a semi-independent, experienced careers advisor to support the careers lessons and 1:1 careers sessions.
Post 16
Careers information, education, advice and guidance are at the forefront of the school’s approach. Staff know pupils exceptionally well and seek to offer impartial and independent advice, so that pupils can thrive with self-belief and confidence as they edge closer to adulthood.
